You came back! You Like me, you really like me!. Great. I appreciate your loyalty. Now leave some comments it's the only adult interaction I get!
It has been a while since I have written a personal entry about my life. Quiskeya, who has become a great friend over the last few months, reminded me that people want to hear what is going on in my life, so here I am.
I have been focusing on getting fit and changing the way we eat and live. It is a hard journey but as thus far proven to be one that is worthwhile. I am halfway to my first goal despite some injuries that have forced me to tone down the exercising a bit. i have been creating some great recipes and while I actually do not have CELIAC’S DISEASE as previously believed, I have been making an effort to reduce the amount of gluten-based products that we consume. The truth is that i feel better than I have in a long time and while I may not have Celiac’s, I know my body does better when I eat less gluten/wheat.
In the business arena, I have three ventures (that I am ready to talk about) that are my primary focus as of now. Beautifully.Artful. Design Studio will open for business on June 1. As you may know I am a web and print designer. Unfortunately, some bad luck with a few deadbeat clients forced me to step back for designing. I had become very discouraged because people were not paying me and I was reduced to accepting jobs that paid significantly less than what I charged. I started to doubt my ability, but then I realized that by accepting these scrap jobs I was sending the message that I did not value my skills. I decided to make changes. My design studio will focus on developing and maintaining sites for community organizations and I have vowed to only accept jobs from people who are willing to see my worth. The fact is that if we don’t value ourselves, no one else will.
In addition, I have been rethinking where to go with Moms of Hue. It is a project that is near and dear to my heart and it has been difficult to accept that not every one will have the same passion for it as I do. And that is OK. I ran a very successful online creative writing magazine for years and part of that success came form the fact that I was willing to step outside of my comfort zone and get the job done. I will focus on surrounding myself with people who want me and my projects to succeed and people who are dedicated and genuine. I have become very masculine in the way that I am handling business because as women we tend to allow emotions to cloud sound/good business judgment. I am ready to call “bullshit” when it creeps my way. I am writing my revised business plan for Moms of Hue as well as a creating an advertising plan that will allow me to pay those who have shown to be committed. I am confident that with my new attitude, Moms of Hue will take the world by storm.
And finally, in an effort to generate some additional income, I have become an Avon Independent Representative. I love Avon products- specifically the Skin-so-Soft line and now the new Smooth Minerals line (a cheaper alternative to Bare Minerals). I became a rep because I wanted to sell products that I actually use and I wanted to do so for a company that is well established, provides great training, and an extensive support network. Avon was a great fit. If you are interested in purchasing some Avon products, please do so by visiting my store. There are some great deals going on right now including free shipping on orders of $30 or more.
In addition to the main ventures above, I am recommitting myself to Traveling Mom TV and the TravelingMom.com network, NY Metropolista, and homeschooling. But I will write more on that soon.
YAY, a post about your happenings! *standing up while wildly clapping my hands* You know I’m an all time fan of yours and stalk…ahem…I mean faithful read your blog. LOL
“The fact is that if we don’t value ourselves, no one else will.” Absolutely. We teach the world how to treat us by how we treat ourselves. And you, my friend are so worth everything you ask for. As I’ve said before I wish I had half your brain.
With your new resolve I only see great things ahead for you. Tremendous!
