Mamavation Monday: The Road Ahead

I often think that I am afraid to succeed. When I start doing well I almost sabotage myself. The problem is that I find it very hard to recover from that self-defeating behavior. Take this week for example. Since February 10, 2010 I was down 12 pounds as of this past Monday. I was on a roll. My successes the previous week got me so psyched and despite the failures, I stayed mamavated!

Mamavation Monday: Learning to take my time

Watch Lives ChangeI am waiting to find out if I am one of the 5 finalist for one of two spots as a Momavation Mom (Psst, if I am one, please vote for me). In the mean time I have be creating a backup plan so that if I am not a finalist or if I don’t get enough votes and I can continue on my path to losing 195 pounds.

I know first hand that life doesn’t always make it easy for most people to focus on fitness and health. I have spent many a night planning to work out and cook better only to fall flat on my face. In the last few weeks since applying for Mamavation I have been more focus on creating a life that includes healthy choices for bot myself and my family. And I am learning to take my time.

Mamavation Monday: The Journey…Again

Watch Lives ChangeBy now you probably know that I am am ready to take a big step on my journey to lose weight. I have completed (as of tomorrow) the last step in my pre-op weight loss surgery requirements and am ready to set a date. However, I have decided to try to lose weight once again before doing so. In truth, I want to to lower my BMI before I set a date because as of now I am a danger zone. I also think that if I can jump­start my metab­o­lism and refo­cus my weight loss jour­ney, I may decide not to have the surgery.

After watching the Mamavation conversation for weeks on Twitter and after witnessing the success of my very good friend Renee J Ross who recently lost 40 lbs since Thanksgiving, I knew that I had to give it another go for my piece of mind.
