You’re so focused and just ON IT, that i know you’ll make your goals. I know it’s doubly hard for you with the exercise limitations you have, but i know you’ll get there. It’s so frustrating, trying to lose weight – I can empathize, as I’m 30 pounds heavier than when I had DS. I always thought it would be so much easier to lose baby weight, and it’s posed such a challenge and just feels so daunting. So your journey has been motivational for me as well.
I am very focused. Problem is that I feel defeated a lot too and that makes it hard to stay motivated. But I will do it- somehow. LOL. Thanks for the support and we can definitely motivate each other.
I am so with you! I, too, have an autoimmune disease that hasn’t been clearly defined yet (even after more than 10 years).
I was wondering if your thyroid problems contribute to your weight issues. You kind of mentioned it, but didn’t say so directly.
I also eat, or did eat, too little. I never ate breakfast and didn’t get enough protein and that caused late night eating. Once I changed those habits I lost 20 pounds. I gained some of it back, but I’m getting back on track now.
I have Wii Fit and intend to be more diligent with it, too.
I was thinking that once you start exercising, even low impact, it will help get your resting heart rate down, too. Then maybe you can move up to more strenuous exercise.
I’m really looking forward to following you on your journey and hopefully on getting on with mine, too. We can motivate each other!
Hi Shelli. Yes, some of the weight issues are related to my thyroid although I won’t cop out and say that is the only problem. My level of activity is no where near where it should be and that too is a major problem.
I am trying to change that as well as eat more and get more protein but I have been sick for almost 3 weeks and it’s become worse than an uphill battle.
But, I am motivated and willing to put everything out there to keep me honest and focused. Thanks for the support. I need it! LOL
